Rigorous analysis is undertaken to minimise the release of air pollutants.

Carbon disulphide (CS₂) and bi-product hydrogen sulphide (H₂S) are released during the spinning process but are collected at all processing stages.

CS₂ is recovered in liquid form from low volume, high concentration streams. Less concentrated streams are transported to the waste gas sulphuric acid plant for conversion to commercial sulphuric acid at 95% concentration.
