Viscose fiber is one of the most widely used fiber for textile applications. Fabrics produced from viscose fiber has an excellent drape, color brillience and comfort properties. Due to these very desireable properties viscose fabrics are used in wide range of applications like Apparel, Home furnishings and industrial.
In blends with synthetic fibers like polyester and nylon, viscose fibers add softness, drape and comfort. When blended with cotton, viscose adds better drape and color brilliance. In blends with linen, viscose adds much needed softness and color depth. Being a man-made cellulosic fiber, viscose has the uniformity of fiber parameters like the denier, cut-length, stregth, elongation which is not the case with natural cellulosic fibers like cotton. These fiber parameters could be changed at will to optimize its blendimng ability with other natural and synthetic fibers. Consequently viscose fiber has managed to find its use in almost all textile applications.

SPV will increase its fiber production capacity by 80,000 tons per year
SPV will increase its fiber production capacity by 80,000 tons per year with the construction of line 5, which will operate by end of 2012. This addition capacity will increase SPV’s total production to 325,000 tons per year.

Due to the strong demand from the Indonesian textile industry for high-quality viscose fibers, the Lenzing Group, a world market leader in man-made cellulose fibers with its registered office in Austria, announced the immediate further expansion of its production capacity at PT. South Pacific Viscose (SPV), the company's main Asian production facility, located at Purwakarta, West Java.
